My deepest condolences! My heart and thoughts are with the Quans. I have so many fond memories growing up on the same street. Allan was the neighbourhood dad that was always happy to see you and made you feel welcome. I will always cherish the memories and time I had with him and his family.

My sincere condolences to the Quan family on the passing of Allan. He was a unique man who was a larger-than-life individual. My contact with Allan was at Western University where we both worked in the rapidly developing University library system. He was a senior librarian and I acted as personnel manager in this important part of the institution. I often helped Alan recruit staff and manage the usual personnel problems as they arose. He impressed me as a fair-minded person who respected others and always looked for the good in people while he sought equitable solutions to difficulties as they arose. His sharp intellect, sense of humour and outgoing manner endeared him to all who met and worked with him. He will be missed but we are all the better for having had him in our lives to inform, amuse and impress us. His memory will live on. Thanks for the time we had with you, Allan.

Our sincere, heartfelt condolences to Allan Quan's family With heavy hearts we have learned of the passing of a beloved neighbour and friend. Allan will be remembered by us as a caring, helpful, resourceful and fun loving gent who knew, along with his loving wife Susanne, how to entertain and humour the neighbourhood. His knowledge, actions and advice was always welcome and appreciated. He'll be missed by all who had the pleasure in knowing him and benefited from his great personality, kindness and love. Some of my best childhood memories were the family vacations we took together. My father loved having the Schmiedt family as friends and neighbours.
