Obituary of Michael Leslie Hosier
It is with profound sorrow that the family of Mike Hosier announces his passing on Tuesday November 26th, 2024 in his 78th year.
He will be greatly missed as beloved husband of Nancy. Cherished father of Angela & Chris Hodgins and Stephen Hosier, and dear step-father to Tammy ( Len ), Scott ( Penny ) and Cindy ( Justin ). Idolized “Buka” ( Grandpa ) of Matthew and Ally, Sadly missed Grandpa of Tyler, Maggie, Zachary, Jackson, Joe, Victoria, Hailey, Riley, Hayden, Brittany, Abbey, Emerson and Blake. As an only child, he was predeceased by his parents Leslie and Joyce Hosier.
Mike will also be missed by many other family and friends including those that shared his passion for his favourite MGA sports cars.
Born in the Isle of Wight, England, Mike immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1948, beginning their Canadian journey in Halifax, and eventually planting roots in London and surrounding areas. He had a long career in Finance and retired from TD Canada Trust in 2000.
Mike had a passion for cars, valued his close friendships, loved deeply and took pride in all of his family. He loved spending time at his cottage on Lake Huron, taking long drives in his MGA while he was able and reminiscing with family and friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at University Hospital for their kind and thoughtful care of Mike on his final journey.
As per Mike’s wishes their will be a private family service after his cremation. Expressions of sympathy can be shared through www.ontariocremation.com. Donations in memory can be made to ARF - Animal Rescue Foundation (https://www.arfontario.com/donation/) in honour of the many furry creatures that touched Mike’s life and in lieu of flowers to St. Anne’s Anglican Church, Byron.
