Obituary of Sylvia Joan Boone

Sylvia Joan Boone passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024, at Parkwood Hospice Care. Born in 1946, she was 78 years old. Sylvia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and valued member of her community. Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, Casper Boone. They shared a remarkable 57 years of marriage, filled with love and unwavering companionship. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Casper, Shannon (Jenn), Nichole (Mark), and Dawn (Phil). Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren: Rylan, Owen, Ayla, Marek, Mary, Nathan, Jackson, Max, Cohen, Evan, and Charlotte, each of whom she adored immensely. Sylvia's life was a testament to her dedication to family and community. Before marrying Casper, Sylvia worked as an office assistant, demonstrating her versatility and work ethic early on. During the early part of their marriage, Sylvia was a stay-at-home mom. She devoted herself to raising her 4 children and became an integral part of her close, family-oriented community while raising her children. Later on, Sylvia returned to school to pursue a career as a health care aide and a cook. Sylvia had a passion for baking, bringing joy and warmth to those around her with her delicious creations. An active member of her church, Sylvia's faith was an essential part of her life. She loved reading, cooking, and socializing, always engaging in her community with enthusiasm and a kind heart. Family was of utmost importance to Sylvia, and she found great joy in being surrounded by her loved ones. We would like to thank the many medical teams involved in her prolonged care throughout her battle with breast cancer. Specifically, Dr. Raphael and team from the Cancer Clinic at London Health Sciences Centre, the palliative team lead by Dr. Hamilton, and finally the hospice team at Parkwood Hospital. Sylvia will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have had her in their lives. The visitation will be held on Monday July 29th from 7:00 - 9:00pm and memorial service of Sylvia’s life will held on Tuesday July 30th beginning at 12:00 noon.
