Obituary of Kathleen Anne Morrison

Kathleen Anne Morrison passed away the evening of July 7th 2024 surrounded by friends and family. She was a loving mother of Cory and Cassandra Morrison, beloved sister to Dave Schelken, and loyal friend to so many. Born and raised in the London area, she devoted her life to always learning, exploring, creating, and helping others within her community. Her children were her whole world, and she meant the world to them. Kathleen was a beautiful human inside and out — her gorgeous smile and stunning blue eyes lit up every room she walked into and her kindness melted your heart. When you were in her company, you felt like the only person who mattered. After earning two college diplomas, she went back to school again in her mid-50s to get her Bachelor of Psychology from The University of Western Ontario. She managed to graduate with Distinction only weeks before she passed, despite navigating online learning through COVID and battling arthritis, fibromyalgia and stage 4 breast cancer. Kathleen was simultaneously a brilliant and witty actor, playwright, and writer with endless humility and warmth. Despite facing life’s greatest challenges, she always remained joyful, kind, grateful, resilient and strong — right up until her last breath. From skydiving in her 20s, to hiking up Mount Vesuvius the year before she passed, Kathleen was the definition of what it meant to live your best and truest life. To anyone who knew her, it was obvious that she was a fighter, a dreamer, and always did things her way — no matter what anybody else thought. We will always remember Kathleen as a bright light who never hesitated to put others before herself. She had a rare and admirable ability to live fully in the present and enjoy the smallest treasures life had to offer. She had a genuine gratitude for life, a passion for creation and an unconditional love for her family and friends. Kathleen Anne Morrison was a pure blessing to this earth and has inspired her kids, friends and everybody who knew her with her unimaginable perseverance. She was a beautiful soul who will be missed extraordinarily — but will remain a strong, shining light in the hearts of all those lucky enough to have known her. An informal celebration of life for Kathleen will take place on Sunday, July 21st, 2024 from 1-4pm at 166 Southdale Rd West unit 92A.
