It is with shock and great sadness that I have just learned of Garry's passing.
My most heartfelt condolences are sent to Brenda, his loving wife of so many years, and to Roger and Debbie his loving siblings and to the rest of Garry's family:
Dawne (Matt) Dopp, Sean (Jamie) Scarr, Bradley and Bentley Dopp, Jan Scarr, Frank Chiappetta, and of course Stryder who will miss his pet parent immensely.
My deepest sympathies are also extended to the rest of Garry's family and friends who mourn Garry's passing.
Though I have lost contact with my cousins, and have not seen Garry, Roger or Debbie in years, I still remember each of them (each of you) with love and with great fondness.
Years and miles have not dimmed nor diminished the fond memories I still hold close to my heart; the times we visited Uncle Mervyn and Aunt Mollie or the times when you/they came to Toronto to visit us.
Although it seems a lifetime ago, and indeed, in many ways, it was a lifetime ago, please know that you have never been forgotten.
Garry is gone from this earth in his physical presence, but his legacy lives on in each and every one of you and he lives on in me and in the lives of all those whom he has touched.
Reading his obituary, it does my heart good to see that Garry lived a rich and full life - to know that he lived and was loved - what more can anyone ask for in this finite life we are given?
It seems from the photos and the obituary that Garry made the most of his life - and, for that I am glad, for I have only ever wished the best for each of you.
My love, hugs, and prayers are with each of you at this time of immense sorrow and heartache.
May Garry's love for each of you, and his evident passion for life, help to heal the ache felt at his passing and the void left by his physical absence.
May you carry on his legacy as you honour his memory and may you be comforted, secure in the knowledge that he loved you so very, very much.
Hugs, love, fondness and prayers
Your cousin,
Sue Lonergan (nee Rekowski)

Sorry to hear of your loss, Garry was " one of the good ones" in foodservice. I first met Garry about 23 years ago at Summit. We quickly developed a friendship along with Jerry Valeriote. One of my fondest funniest memories was a time the 3 of us went ice fishing for a day. We had cold beer, cold KFC and no fish!!! We got to know a lot about each other in an 8x6 foot hut over a day.
