Obituary of Richardus Wilhelmus Stijvers

Richardus Wilhelmus Stijvers passed away peacefully in his home on September 25, 2023 in London in his 101st year. Loving father of Peter Styvers of Toronto, Pat Styvers of Grand Bend, Claire Styvers and her husband Michael Bellamy, Mary Renaud and her husband Joe of London and Christopher Styvers and his wife Jody Lobb of Ottawa. ‘Opa’ of Marshall, Yolanda, Carson, Jessica, Joseph, Rebecca, Grace and Charlotte. ‘Great Opa’ to Blake, Levi, Blaire and Endre. Richardus is preceded in death by his wife, Petronella Maria Koopmanschap, of London and all of his siblings. Richardus was born on December 21, 1922, in Amsterdam, Netherlands to Clara Hagen and Petrus Johannes Stijvers. Seeking a better life, Richardus and Petronella immigrated to Canada in July of 1954 eventually moving to London in 1968. Richardus’ Celebration Of Life is scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, October 7 at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Rd, W . in London. Visitation precedes at 10AM in the church narthex.
