Obituary of Joyce Lucille Pollock

Joyce Lucille Pollock (Karam) 1935 – 2021 Born on July 22, 1935 in Fort William, Ontario, Joyce died peacefully at the age of 85, with family at her side, at Parkwood Hospital, in London, Ontario. Predeceased by her parents, Ed and Martha, siblings Vivian, Rusell, Ron and Glenn, and nephew, Andrew. Survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jack, son, John (Donna), daughters, Lori (David) and Maureen (Mike), grandchildren, Branden (Taya) and Megan (Nathan), great grandchildren, Jacksen and Kingston, and many nieces and nephews. Raised in Fort William, Joyce married Jack in 1961 and continued working as a billing clerk for CNR at the grain elevators until the arrival of their first child. Joyce and Jack and their family moved to Geraldton in 1966 where she focussed her efforts on raising their kids and volunteering at the local elementary school. The family relocated to Guelph in 1976. Upon retirement in 1993, Jack and Joyce began splitting their time between Strathroy and Florida, until settling in London in 2007. An accomplished bridge and cribbage player, bowler and curler, throughout her life Joyce avidly followed the sport of curling as well as her beloved Montreal Canadiens and Blue Jays. A heartfelt thanks to the dedicated team of medical professionals in London. A celebration of life will be held for Joyce and Jack (who died in 2023) at Celebration Forest in London on September 17, 2023 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. If desired, donations should be made in Joyce’s memory to a charity of your choice.
