Obituary of Elisabeth McKellar

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Elisabeth (Elly) McKellar on her 101st birthday March 8th, 2023. Elly is predeceased by her husband Stewart (1969) and her daughter Sylvia (2001) (Austin). She is survived by her son Eric (Lisa) 3 grandchildren, Cheryl (Dan) Brett (Andrea) and Kelsie (Mike) and her 3 great grandsons Hudson, Clarke, and Miles. Elly was born in Holland in 1922 where she lived until she met her husband. They moved to Canada and built a thriving business called Elwill Pottery. She ran this business out of her home for over 30 years and her pottery was sold in stores across Canada. When that career ended, she went on to photography where she took thousands and thousands of pictures. A self-taught developer, she entered many contests where she won hundreds of ribbons and trophies. In her well lived life, she did a lot of travelling across Europe and Canada. Elly also loved nature and especially her cats which she still had up until her 98th year when she moved to a nursing home. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will take place at a later date.
