Obituary of John Robert Taylor
Taylor, John Robert passed away peacefully with Family by his side at University Hospital, London, Ontario on January 29th, 2023.
In his 94th year, beloved husband of Edith for almost 70 years (March 2023), dear father of Gloria McKenzie (Malcolm – husband) of London, Ontario, loving grandfather of Brent McKenzie (Jen- wife) and Sheryl Sdao - nee McKenzie (Paul - husband) and Molly (the dog), great grandfather to Sophia, Julianna, Callum and Owen.
Brother of Nancy of Newcastle upon Tyne, England and predeceased by his Parents Thomas & Margaret Taylor and brothers, Harry, Thomas & Jimmy.
John will be greatly missed by everyone including numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and England.
An amazingly strong, resilient, proud man his enthusiasm and stories were always something we will remember and hold on to forever. To say John was like a cat with 9 lives is an understatement, he cheated death quite a few times and continued to try and make it to 100 years to get a letter from the "Queen". He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren more than life itself and he was a gentleman to everyone that met him and would do anything for anyone, generous to a fault. He loved animals and his favourite pastime was to feed the squirrels, chipmunks and birds at Extendicare.
John was a Freeman of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, also was in the Order of the Buffalo, Whitley Bay, England which he held dear to his heart.
Cremation has taken place and a private gathering of family to celebrate John's life will be held at a later date.
Expressions of sympathy and donations to London Humane Society would be appreciated and may be made through Ontario Cremation Services (519)472-2200 or online at www.ontariocremation.com
Special thanks to the Staff at Extendicare London where John resided with his wife until his passing, for everything you did and continue to do we can't thank you enough.
To University Emergency Department staff for their compassion and care of John in his final hours on earth.
