Obituary of Douglas Outerson

It is with deep sorrow that the family of DOUGLAS OUTERSON announces his peaceful passing at home on Dec. 9, 2022. Doug was in his 79th. year. Beloved and cherished husband of Judy for 56 years. Proud and much-loved Father of Todd and wonderful Daughter-in-Law Cindy (Burlington). Survived by brothers David (Joan) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Richard (d.Ruth-Anne) (2010) of Brantford and brother-in-law Terry McDonald (Catherine) of London. Cherished Uncle of nieces Kerri McDonald of Mississauga and Jennifer McDonald (Steve Couch) of Toronto. Much loved Great Uncle to Madeline and Charlotte Maki of Mississauga, and Sadie and Norah Couch of Toronto. Also Uncle to Dean, Julianne, Travis and Matthew (Ricky-Lynn) Outerson. Great Uncle to Alyssa Outerson and Clara, Julia and Mallory Outerson. Fondly remembered by lifelong friend Paul Stillman (formerly of Brantford.) Doug enjoyed a 25 year career with Massey Ferguson in Brantford in the Specifications and Marketing Departments. Doug worked with Prudential Insurance for 5 years just prior to retirement. In retirement, Doug was a part-time shuttle driver for five years with Budd’s BMW in Oakville. Golfing was his favourite pastime until his COPD caught up with him. He and Judy enjoyed many years of travel to many destinations, near and far. Doug loved his music, especially Elvis, and his favourite sports teams, the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. Doug had a keen interest in classic cars, which he shared with his on-line car buddies. Doug and his family will be forever grateful for the care he received from Dr. Cory Yamashita and more recently from Dr. Faria Rubab and Natalie Caouette, RPN. of SE Health. As per Doug’s wishes, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of Doug’s happy and well-lived life will be held at the RiverBend Golf Community Clubhouse, 1200 Sandy Somerville Drive, London, Ontario N6K 5R2 on Sunday, Jan. 8th. 2023 from 1 pm to 4 pm, with remembrances at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations in Doug’s memory to The Lung Health Foundation www.lunghealth.ca or The Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario psso.ca There will be a private interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford in the spring of 2023.
