Obituary of Josephine Mary Bugeja

Joey (Josephine) Bugeja, 79, of London ON passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on July 9, 2021 after her multi-year battle with cancer. Joey was born on August 30, 1941 to Doris and Donald Forbes. In 1956, Joey met her husband, Joe Bugeja and together had two children; Linda and Tom. She loved to laugh, tell stories and travel, specifically to Malta to spend time with family. She was kind, witty and thoughtful and was the biggest supporter to those she loved and cared about. Joey was predeceased by her mother, Doris and sister, Donna. She is survived by her husband Joe, her children Linda (Craig) and Tom (Laurie), three grandchildren Karen (Martin), Stephen and Ryan (Avery) and two great-grandchildren Audrey and Jacob. Throughout a decade long battle with cancer, Joey remained positive and optimistic always stating “this too will pass”. She maintained her wit and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She wanted to give a special thank you to her daughter-in-law, Laurie, who in recent years, was her advocate and primary caregiver. Additionally, the family would like to thank her medical team and VON staff, specifically Karen and Florence who have assisted throughout the years.
