Obituary of Gordon Donald Rodgers

Passed away peacefully under the gentle loving care of staff at Country Terrace Nursing Home in Komoka, On, on Saturday June 17th, 2017 in his 87th year. Retired City of London employee from 1954-1987. Gord loved the outdoors, camping, golfing, canoeing, skiing and hiking-he was a longtime member of the London Curling Club. Loving husband and best friend of Sue Rodgers. Former spouse of Lois Stewart. Dear father of Steve (Karen), Nancy (Don), Cindy (Will) and Andrew (Ashley). Caring grandfather of Matt, Marie, David, Peter, Brendan, Caeli and Dylan. Proud great-grandfather of Caleb, Benjamin, Nicholas, Henry and Adrian. Brother of Art (Barb). Special uncle of Pam and Margaret Ann. Son of the late Ira and Beatrice Rodgers and stepmother Margaret Rodgers. Predeceased by brother Bob and sister Frances, stepbrother Ernie, stepsisters Jean, Loretta and Barb and infant great-granddaughter Si’ipn Rose. Fondly remembered by Sue’s daughters Kim, Holly and Jill and her sisters Lorraine and Louise and their families. “Grandpa Gord” will be especially missed by Danielle, Garrett and Julia. A celebration of Gord’s life will take place on Saturday, June 24th, 2017 at St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church, 397 Springbank Drive, London, On at 11:00am with Archdeacon Sam Thomas officiating. Reception to follow. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
