Obituary of Fleurette Marie Clarke

Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Fleurette Marie Clarke (nee Turcotte) passed away on November 17, 2018, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife and best friend of William (Bill) for 62 years. Loving mother of Tracey Hill (Dave), Graeme Clarke, Scott Clarke (Julie) and Reid Clarke. Wonderful “Mere” to Elyse Ryan (Jeremy), Bailey Hill (Matt), Brodie Dack, Nick Warner, Mia Clarke and Tyler Clarke. Very proud Great-grandma to Paige, Tyler, Luke and Jack Ryan. She will be sadly missed by nieces Susan Desjardine (Leo), and Bobbie Turcotte, sister-in-law Edna Clarke, special friend Donna Hull, and lifelong friend Frances Coupal. Fleurette was pre-deceased by her daughter Valerie Clarke (1957), parents Blanche (nee Philion) and Oscar Turcotte, brothers Lucien and Fern Turcotte, mother-in-law Ethel Proctor, sister-in-law’s Simone Turcotte and Marilyn Danos and brother-in-law Douglas Clarke. Fleurette was a highly respected Registered Nurse, specializing in Mental Health Care. She graduated from St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto in 1950, received her Michigan RN status in 1952, and graduated from the Nursing Administration Program in 1978. She retired as a Head Nurse from London Psychiatric Hospital in 1988. Once retired, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida and summers at the family cottage. Her greatest joy was her family. The family is extremely grateful to the wonderful staff at Westmount Gardens, particularly Meagan, Felicia, Denise, Leanne and Sarah; as well as many others who provided such loving care to her in the past 18 months. Additionally, we would like to express our appreciation to Dr. G. DeRose and his staff in Vascular Surgery at Victoria Hospital, London, as well as the Palliative Care team who showed such compassion during her last few days. Cremation has taken place. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate Fleurette’s life will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Byron, 1276 Commissioner’s Road West, between 1:00 0 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family, and may be made through Ontario Cremation Services at (519)-472-2200 or online at www.ontariocremation.com.
