Obituary of James Douglas Hopeson .

After 71 years of making this world a better place, Jim left us forever Friday night, September 27, 2019 after a brief fight with cancer. Loving husband of 44 years to Jennifer (Doidge), best dad in the world to Andrew and Christina (Chris), adoring HaHa to Laura, the light of his life, and wonderful big brother to Kathy Langmuir (John). Jim will be missed by so many others including his best friend Ian McKenzie (Jennine), all of his kid’s friends over the past 37 years whom he loved as his own and countless other friends and family members. It wouldn’t be right to celebrate Jim without a smile, a deep belly laugh and a drink in hand. Friends and family are invited to cheers to a life well lived Monday, October 7 from 2pm-4pm at Toboggan Brewing Company, 585 Richmond Street. Dad was always the best host and we look forward to honouring him with the type of party he always loved. We send our appreciation to the staff at University Hospital for making Dad as comfortable as possible in his last days. Extra special thanks to Marianne and Ellen in the HASU who took care of Mom as much as they did Dad. Dad was a huge supporter of The Thames Valley Education Foundation’s Caring Fund.
