Obituary of Laurie Khawaja
On Friday, November 8, 2019, Laurie Khawaja (Hyslop) passed away suddenly at the age of 48. Laurie will be forever remembered by her daughters, Alexandra and Lauren. Survived by her parents Jon and Ruth Hyslop, and by her sister Alison (Allan) McConnell and brother Brad (Kim) Hyslop. Laurie was adored by her nieces and nephews Max, Cameron, Abby and Piper. She will also be cherished by many extended family, friends, and father to her children, Moustapha Khawaja. Laurie lived her life for her girls, Alexandra and Lauren. They meant the world and so much more to her. Laurie had a bright and energetic personality and was known for her ability to love. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Laurie had a passion for cooking, music, and a love for teaching. Laurie touched so many lives as a beloved music teacher at Victoria Public School where her passion and love for music could shine. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, November 16th 2019 anytime from 1-4pm located at Boler Mountain, 689 Griffith Street, London, Ontario. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the music program at Victoria Public School (130 Wharncliffe Rd. S, London, Ontario N6J 2K5, Tel.: (519) 452-8640).
