Stephen Michalchuk

Stephen graduated from Hillfield-Strathallen College, Hamilton and attended Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, Chemical Engineering Technology in the 1980’s.His soul searching for a fulfilling career in health care/social working lead him to Humber College, funeral services. Stephen’s initial career experience in funeral services was achieved at various funeral homes in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton and finally 4 years in the Tokyo, Japan area. While in Japan, Stephen studied Japanese funeral business practice and customs and his research has been published by the Canadian Funeral Director Magazine. Much of the customer service and integrity of Japanese business has become the foundation of Ontario Cremation Services, making it the most successful business of its kind in Ontario. Stephen has been married for 27 years and has a son. His acute attention to detail may be seen in various stained glass lamps in his home or wood model ships that he built and currently displays at the London Cremation office. Stephen is a past executive member of the Fanshawe Optimist club, Kiwanis Club and Porsche Club of America, Upper Canada. Stephen’s technical ability often serves as a diversion to funeral services in building and repairing computers or playing the guitar. In the summer he enjoys long distance cycling including the annual MS Bike Tour.
