Obituary of Richard James Collier
Richard James Collier (Rick), of London, in his 66th year, passed away surrounded by his family after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by his true love and wife of 27 years, Charlene; children; Veronica (Evan), David (Terri), Rachel (Aaron), Jessica (John), Ashly (Bryan), Megan (Holly), Lili (Brody), and Trinity; siblings, Lawrence, Rose, Eugene (Mike), Dennis, and Tammy (John). He will be forever missed by his grandchildren, who adored their Papa. The world’s best uncle to his many nieces, nephews, and missed by his trusty dog, Max. Rick was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Marjorie.
Rick will be remembered with every ice-cold Blue, euchre game, 80s and KISS songs. Family meant everything to Rick, and he meant everything to us. He was the life of the party, a shoulder to cry on, and always had a dirty joke ready to go. His sense of humor never faded, finding ways to make us laugh even when we wanted to cry. His laugh, his hugs, and his love have left a lasting imprint on all of us. In his final days, he said, “I’m not scared of death, I’m scared of missing you all.”
We will miss you always, Ricky. Smell ya later.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing nurses at Parkwood on the palliative care floor for their utmost care and compassion during our difficult time.
At Rick’s request, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22 at the Moose Lodge 1205 (6 Weston Ave) from 1pm-4pm. 80s/KISS-themed clothing is encouraged.
