Obituary of Ted Gavell

Gordon Edward Gavell (Ted) Obituary After fighting through numerous health challenges Gordon (Ted) passed away peacefully in his sleep in his 84th year on Saturday June 13th, 2026. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Geraldine (Gerrie) and will be dearly missed by his son Robert, his daughter Kellie and her husband Jayson, his sister Elsie, his grandsons Daniel and Josh (Evan) and his great-granddaughter Riley as well as a large extended family. Ted was happiest pursuing his passion for classic country music. This often led him to the stage often to play his guitar and sing at his beloved jamboree's. When not performing Ted enjoyed the dance floor, waltzing and 2 stepping his way around. Ted was also an avid golfer. Special thanks to the many wonderful, dedicated staff who went above and beyond in caring for Ted during his time at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. The family will always appreciate and remember the kindness and respect you showed to him during this trying time. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at St Anne's Centre on Friday June 19th, 2026 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM: St Anne's Centre 20 Morrison Dr, St Thomas, ON N5R 4S6 A private service will be held at a later date for the spreading of the ashes.
