Obituary of Douglas Ian Perryman

Douglas Ian Perryman passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family January 20th 2026 in his 75th year. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Niki (Willie), and his cherished granddaughter, Sheridan, who brought immense pride and happiness to his life. He was predeceased by his father, William Perryman; his mother, Arlene Perryman (née Gates); and his brother, Bruce Perryman. Doug proudly served the City of London, Ontario, as a dedicated firefighter for 23 years, retiring in 2004 as a respected Fire Captain. Throughout his career, he demonstrated leadership, bravery, and an unwavering commitment to protecting his community. His years of service reflected his strong sense of duty and integrity—qualities that remained with him long after his retirement. Doug valued his privacy and lived a life centered on family, friendship, and the simple joys that meant the most to him. Doug had a deep love for travel and time spent outdoors. He enjoyed heading to Florida, creating lasting memories on family camping and fishing trips, and taking summer excursions to Port Stanley and visiting Niagara Falls. In retirement, he found great enjoyment in playing pool—weekly and sometimes daily—sharing laughter, stories, and camaraderie with his close friends. Those hours spent around the pool table were among his most treasured times. Doug leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty, and quiet devotion to those he loved. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, former colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. There will be no service at this time. A private family celebration of life will be held in the near future to honor and remember Doug.
