Obituary of Martha Elizabeth Williams

The world became a little quieter (and far less witty) on December 8, 2025, when Martha Elizabeth “Mitch” Williams wrapped up her 76-year adventure. Even in her short battle with pancreatic cancer, she kept her humour and a go-with-the-flow spirit that made everyone around her breathe a little easier. Mitch spent 55 years married to her favourite human, David, who loved her endlessly and somehow managed to keep up with her stubbornness and her occasional side-eye. She was the proud mum of Jennifer and mother-in-law to Peter Seligman, and the beloved nana - “Nanny” - to her grandchildren — Owen, Addy, and Charlotte — who thought the world of her. They will forever miss her hugs and the steady supply of English chocolate. She was celebrated in the way she’d most approve of: a small, intimate gathering with good wine, ABBA on repeat, and stories that made us both laugh and cry. Cheers to Mitch/Mum/Nanny.
