Obituary of Theresa Strachan

Our hearts are broken as we share that Theresa “Teri” Strachan passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, on the palliative care unit at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, surrounded by love. She was 83 years old. Born on March 17, 1942, in Guelph On, Teri spent most of her life in London, Ontario, where she built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love. She was predeceased by her mother, Brenda Moss, and leaves behind her partner of nearly 38 years, Melanie McIntyre, her greatest companion and source of joy. Teri was a devoted mother to Dave Strachan (Lee-Ann Watson), Lisa Shaw (Jon Shaw), and Steve Strachan, and the proudest grandmother to Kathryn Strachan (Adam Anderson), Nathan Strachan, Moriah Shaw, Morgan Shaw, and Caleb Shaw. She was also a great-grandmother to Jeremy and Gabriel, with another on the way — a new life she already loved from afar. For over 40 years, Teri served as a Registered Nurse, dedicating her life to caring for others. She found her calling in palliative care with the VON, where her gentle heart and steady hands brought peace to countless families. Her compassion was limitless, her empathy unmatched. Teri was a lover of animals and could never resist a furry face in need of affection. She also loved crossword puzzles, and could often be found with a pencil in hand and a mischievous grin as she worked through the morning paper. Those who knew Teri will tell you she was pure light — the kindest soul with a beautiful mix of warmth, humor, and a little bit of lovable ditziness that made her uniquely her. She had a smile that could calm any storm, and a way of making everyone feel like they belonged. Her home, and her heart, were always open. Teri loved deeply and completely. She taught those around her what it meant to give without measure, to laugh often, and to lead with kindness. Her love will continue to ripple through generations — in her children, her grandchildren, and all those lucky enough to have known her. As per her wishes, there will be no formal service, but her family invites everyone to honour her in their own way — through kindness, laughter, and love, just as she lived her life. Forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
