Obituary of Carol Anne Desrochers

Desrochers, Carol Anne Carol, a beacon of love, laughter and sunshine, left us peacefully on March 8th, 2025 at the age of 74 following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Forever cherished by her devoted husband Norman Desrochers, children - Amy Orr (Peter Fros), Sandy Desrochers, Terry Desrochers (Jennifer), grandchildren - Tyler, Rachel and Ryann Orr and Alexa, Sage and Nathan Desrochers and an extensive circle of friends that were lucky enough to know and love her. Carol dedicated much of her life to her career as an administrative assistant at Niagara College, where she was a friendly and welcoming presence to students and staff alike. The friendships she formed at Niagara College remained close to her heart, and she cherished the time spent with her work family far after retirement. The beach was her happy place, where friends and family often gathered and some of her fondest memories were made. Whether she was sitting on the beach, listening to live music with friends at wine night or hosting another girls’ weekend, the beach was where her soul felt most at home. She found joy in the company of others, and her deck was always a welcome place to gather. Her network of friends from both work and her beloved beach community was a testament to the joy she brought into the lives of others. She had an open heart and a listening ear, making everyone feel valued and loved. As a nana, she was playful, patient and endlessly devoted. When painting rocks with the kids, sharing a glass of wine or strolling on the boardwalk, she created memories that will be treasured forever. Cremation has taken place. Although she is no longer physically with us, her spirit will always be found in the laughter of her grandchildren, the sunsets on the beach and in the hearts of all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at her happy place, Sherkston Shores, where friends and family can gather to honor her beautiful soul. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to any charity that supports childhood cancer. Expressions of sympathy may be made online at www.ontariocremation.com. Special thanks to the staff of the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre especially Dr. Lina Salman and Ontario Health at Home staff. Rest easy Carol, know that you were deeply loved and will forever be missed.
